Rigid orthotics are made out of inflexible acrylics or carbon fiber composites. A rigid orthotic is used to control motion in two major foot joints that lie directly below the ankle (the subtalar and midtarsal joints). They are often used to control pain in the lower legs, thighs and lower back and to prevent excessive turning in the foot, also known as pronation.
Top covers are primarily used as a protective barrier between the patient's foot and the orthotic. Their main function is to add comfort and increase the life of the orthoses.
A typical use of this product is to add a top cover to a ¾ rigid insert or to include one with your custom orthotic order.

The patented Therma-Shape™ Pad takes an imprint of the foot and analyzes arch types. The image, displayed in a spectrum of colors, allows the consumer to visually identify their specific foot shape and key pressure areas.
The Therma-Shape™ Pad clearly provides consumers with the information they require to purchase their correct orthotic solution. Best of all, the pad requires no electricity or expensive electronics!
1. Take your customer's shoes off. If his/her feet are cold, you may want to have the customer take their socks off.
2. Have the customer stand on the Therma-Shape™ Pad with both feet for 30 seconds.
3. Have the customer step off the pad and identify their foot shape with the images of flat, high, or standard arches. Select the correct orthotic for their size and trim to fit in their shoes.
Acor's prefabricated prosthetic cones are designed to be a high-quality interface between the residuum and socket. Our prosthetic cones are made from Microcel Puff® or Tri-Lam™ and come with distal end pads. The wide, sturdy seams are guaranteed not to separate under heat or vacuum.

When searching for an orthotics supplier, Acor is dedicated to offering the right shape for every situation. Our prefabricated orthotics are available in either a biomechanical (full posterior coverage) orthotic or a hybrid-biomechanical coverage orthotic. The latter uses different material combinations to offer degrees of support and cushioning to targeted areas of the foot.

Materials: Materials come in different layers and qualities. Laminations (adding more than one layer of material) take a characteristic, which is poor in one material, and offset that characteristic with another material, which adds strength to the orthotics.
Sizes: All sizes are designated in U.S. standard women's and men's sizes.
Weight Range: A person's weight can alter the effectiveness of orthotic materials and shapes. For this reason, Acor has listed a suggested weight range for all adult-sized orthotics.
Activities: This is a list of potential activities the practitioner can use in the determination of an orthotic. It further helps to pinpoint the right orthotic for the patient.
Item Number: Describes the item number of the orthoses followed by the shape of the orthotic in either a full foot bed (L), covering the entire base of the foot, or a short foot bed (S), which extends from the heel to just behind the metatarsals.
Cushion: Determines the amount of cushioning that the prefabricated orthotics materials offer to the patient. A low number reflects a superior amount of shock absorption, while a higher number indicates a greater amount of support.
